Belarus folk group Altanka.

Playing stylized folk music, using elements of blues, rock etc. based on original traditional ethnic, ancient belarussian
folk songs, Altanka band presents this music in folk-modern style. Ancient Belarusian melodies and ancient and modern
musical instruments - this is the main interest of Altanka.

People of all ages, coming from different countries are keen of Altanka music. In fact, it is not necessary to speak
Belarusian language to understand the mood of the folk songs performed by Altanka.
The musicians of Altanka play modern acoustic guitar,lightened drums with ancient domra, balalaika, mandolina etc. with
grandmother's and grandfather's method of singing, in this way music of many centuries are mixed at the stage.

Altanka was formed in november 2004 in Minsk (the capital of Belarus) .Since that time the group has a lot of different
performances at home and other countries; the last ones: KulturAktiv Festival (Dresden, Germany), Kraina Mriy Festival
(Kiev, Ukraine), EthnoSphera Festival (Skiernievice, Poland) and other.

Biography:

In 1996 Dima and Vitaly organized folk group Troitsa where they have great musician experience of performances on
different stages, for instance: Oerol, Amsterdam Roots Festival (Holland), Festival Mundial Dela Juventud (Portugal),
Miskolc (Hungary), Mikolajki Folkowe (Poland) and many others.
Sasha "Ji" was performer of music groups such as: The Trap, JiZel's Band, Mixit and other projects.
JiZel's Band was take part in festivals such as Mikolajki Folkowe (Poland), Sinij Perec (Minsk), international youth
caravan Next Stop - New Century.
